Sushant Singh Rajput’s fans demand Wikipedia to change his ’cause of death’ on the page, and get a response from the owner of the site, Jimmy Wales.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden and mysterious death on 14 June 2020, shook the entire nation, the ripples of which, still have not died down. Recently, some of the fans of the late actor made the topic of his death appear in the news once again, when they opposed the information written about his ‘cause of death’ on his Wikipedia page. Read on to know more about it.

On June 14, last year, the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide sent everyone in a state of shock. The people were not ready to believe that the late actor committed suicide, and soon, began demanding a CBI inquiry behind his death. The case took a lot of turns, extending to a case of potential drug abuse. Not only that, but people also decided to boycott a lot of celebrities of the Hindi film industry, who they thought to be behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise.

After almost a year of his death, there have been no reports from the CBI and the case is still said to be underway. However, the AIIMS had also reported after the autopsy that they conducted, that they did not find any evidence of murder, and reported it as suicide.

Now, after 11 months of SSR’s death, some of his fans got the actor’s name and case on Twitter’s trending again, after they took offense to what Wikipedia had written about his demise. On Sushant Singh Rajput’s Wikipedia page, under the section ‘Death,’ the information written states that he died by suicide and that the case is still underway with the CBI. Some people took offense to this and tweeted that Wikipedia does not have any right to declare the death as suicide, as there has been no such report from the CBI. Soon, ‘Wikipedia Sushant was Killed’ became trending on Twitter.

This matter was not ignored by Wikipedia, and Jimmy Wales, the owner of the online free encyclopedia, responded to the whole campaign, saying in his tweet, “Dear fans of Sushant Singh Rajput, Wikipedia is based on reliable sources, not twitter campaigns.”
