Telugu Superstar Couple Samantha and Naga Chaitanya confirm Divorce over Social Media

And…. It’s official. The swirling of rumours in the past couple were put to rest this weekend when the couple in question, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha took to social media to put out a joint statement over their parting of ways.

The Journey So Far

The Telugu superstar, Naga Chaitanya, son of superstar Nagarjuna was rumoured to be in relationship with actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu since November 2015. They held a private engagement ceremony in 2017 making the relationship official. The couple married in October of 2017, with both Christian and Hindu rites. Both the ceremonies were attended by family and friends only.

How the Love Story soured?

Although the couple likes to keep their personal lives private, rumors of trouble in paradise began to circulate when Samantha dropped the surname Akineni from her social media handles. There were also speculations about the actress moving from Hyderabad to Mumbai. The couple mostly refrained from addressing the issue but things took an ugly turn when a reporter kept pestering Samantha on the issue. Now finally the couple has pulled the cat out of the bag with the release of a joint statement.

The Joint Statement

In an identical message that has probably gone through the vetting of lawyers and social media manager, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha posted that they have decided to part ways as husband and wife after much deliberation. They will however continue to have a special bond between them due to the decades of friendship that came before and with the marriage. At the end of the message, they requested the fans to provide them with privacy to deal with this personal change.

While the two stars do not have any immediate film engagement, Naga Chaitanya will have movies premiering in the coming months. They will have to make peace with this relationship as well as the roving eyes and tongues of the magazines. Meanwhile, you can also watch Eenadu on ZEE5.
