Teri Meri Ikk Jindri: Why Pappu Having A Grudge Against Mahi Makes No Sense!

Love stories with a tragic start are always the viewers’ favourite. Teri Meri Ikk Jindri is one such show where Mahi and Jogi started with cute squabbles and are very good friends now. However, while we adore Mahi-Jogi, there is another man in Mahi’s life who has made himself a villain and we don’t know why. Pappu is Mahi’s sister’s husband (her jiju). There is nothing that Mahi has done to irk him and yet he’s hell determined to ruin her life. Let’s take a look at why he wants to do so.

Let’s start by introducing Pappu. He is just like your neighbour uncle. No! he does not whistle when a girl walks by instead he is a misogynistic man who thinks money is everything. For him, all that matters is to be superior. He likes to walk like a king but he often has to find his crown.

Pappu is trying to ruin her life without having any personal grudge. While he wants to ruin her life, what we don’t know is ‘why’ he wants to do that?

Pappu and Mahi belong to different families and the relationship they share is just because of Mahi’s sister. There was no past animosity that they shared and the only reason for their tussle is their difference of opinion. While Mahi loves to live her life on her own terms, Pappu likes to control her. He feels like he has married the whole family and can control whatever they want to do.

In the recent storyline, Pappu even made Mahi’s family suffer by ruining her wedding. While he wants to be the ringmaster, he has also involved his sister Chanda to brew troubles in Mahi’s life (why did she participate? We have no idea). The reason he ruined her wedding was simply ‘cos she was getting married into a more affluential family and that was like a huge blow to his ego.

Not to go into the details but Pappu also used Mahi’s own sister to bring her down. He even tried to stop her from driving a taxi saying that she is bringing shame to the family (misogynist level – maximum). The question to understand here is if his ego is so much so that he doesn’t mind plotting plans to ruin his own wife’s family?

Usually, we have a vamp who’s eyeing our hero and then he gets married to our lead actress thereby making her a target in the vamp’s eyes. Or an evil mother-in-law who disapproves of our beloved ‘bahu’ and wants to kick her out of the family. While these reasons make sense, we fail to understand Pappu’s hatred. Having a difference of opinion and the decision to live her life on her own terms can hardly justify his hatred!

In the coming episodes, Pappu is planning to get Mahi married to a con-man that he has hired. But it would be interesting to see how she will make her way out of it and if Jogi will help her with it.
