The New Promos Of Mee Raqsam Reveal Danish Hussain and Naseeruddin Shah’s Roles

Mee Raqsam is the heart-warming story of a young girl, Mariam’s (Aditi Subedi) dream to learn Bharatnatyam. This film shows how conservative elements from Hindus and Muslims in the society she lives in tries to stop her from following her dream. Danish Husain plays the role of the father who goes against what society tells him and supports his daughter. Naseeruddin Shah also plays the vital role of a conservative and important Muslim who becomes one of Mariam’s main oppressors.

Danish Husain plays the role of a middle-class man and loving father. He is a tailor in his small town and tries to provide the best life he can for his daughter, Mairam, especially since her mother also passed away. He decides that if Mariam enjoys dancing then he will do everything in his power to help her follow her dream.

Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of Hashim Seth, who is a rich and respected muslim in his community. He does what he can to help his community but he also cannot tolerate anyone stepping out of line. He believes that Mariam should not do Bharatnatyam or learn it from the Hindu community. He continues to use his power to pressurise Salim to stop his daughter from dancing.
