The Wife: Gurmeet Choudhary And Sayami Datta’s Romance Takes A Scary Turn In This First Poster

Gurmeet Choudhary and Sayani Datta’s new film The Wife is scheduled to premiere on 19th March exclusively on ZEE5. The film is produced by Zee Studious and it belongs to one of the most discussed genre – horror. In the film, a married couple moves into a new home to find themselves being haunted by a spirit. It will be interesting to see how they save their relationship and their lives from this spirit. While horror as a genre is explored quite well in Bollywood movies, the world of Indian OTT is yet to something significant in this department. And we hope The Wife is able to justify this attempt.

The poster features the lead couple is a romantic exchange of moments but to add to the eeriness we see a hand imprint on the glass door of the washing machine Sayani is sitting on. The poster indicates a very romantic yet horrifying ride for the audience and we can instantly find ourselves getting intrigued by its premise.

Gurmeet returns to the Zee family after his stint in the TV show, Punar Vivah. The actor was always a fan-favourite and enjoyed immense love from all his fans. The Wife was among the few releases whose shooting schedule was disrupted amid the coronavirus pandemic but was resumed as soon as the restrictions were lifted by the government.

Gurmeet also shared the poster of The Wife on his social media and wrote,” Horror comes home…19th March. You will never want to be home alone! Unfold the mystery of #TheWife exclusively on @zee5premium Till Death Do Us Part!” We have previously seen Gurmeet venture into the horror genre with Khamoshiyan, which wasn’t much of a success.

Coming to Bollywood, it has had success with the horror with some recent good releases like Pari, Bhoot and Stree. With the poster of The Wife out now, it seems like this Gurmeet-Sayani starrer will give these horror movies a strong competition.
