Which is why when he says that he is fine, we know that he isn’t too happy about his wedding and still thinking about it. After his first wife’s death, he shut himself off from the world around him and has stopped believing in the idea of love.

One of the reasons that he chooses Hasini is also that he can never see himself falling in love with her. AJ never actually falls in love with Hasini which is why he is not very happy. However, we know that once he gives it time, Hasini and AJ will prove to be perfect for each other.
AJ was still thinking about his first wife which shows that he hasn’t moved on, although there is no doubt about the fact that it is only a matter of time before he actually falls in love with Hasini because it is her character that compelled him to marry her after all!
