. Oct 02, 2019 .

Iniyan’s character, while relatable, also displays some obvious flaws that make him a difficult husband.

Oru Oorula Oru Rajakumari is a ZEE5 show that has created a name for itself in the general body of TV series. Right from the theme of the show that takes a strong stand on the stereotypes of village life and issues of body shaming, to the realities of life depicted over the course of the story, this show comes across as a breath of fresh air. What’s more, the acting skills showcased by the lead actors have been exemplary, making this series a well-rounded package, indeed. Now, among the leading cast, the role of Iniyan, essayed by actor Puvi Arasu, is of great significance. Simply put, he is a protagonist with a personality. He is clearly shown as a hero with flaws. And Puvi  Arasu has been flawless in his portrayal of this role.

Watch the conflict between Iniya and Rasathi in the series Oru Oorula Oru Rajakumari.

All this only serves to make the character of Iniyan that much more relatable. However, his interaction with Rasathi also brings out certain unsavoury shades to his character. And whereas that makes him an interesting character to watch and follow on screen, in real life, these are exactly the kind of traits that no woman would want her husband to have.

A still from Oru Oorula Oru Rajakumari

1. His insecurities
This is something that most of have in some version or another. In fact, Iniyan’s need to be acknowledged as a person who is the best at everything is something that forms the basis of his conflict with Rasathi. It also makes him a very uncomfortable partner to have in a marriage.

2. His narrow mindedness
Iniyan’s lack of awareness about certain things in life is what creates problems for him. It is also what stops him from accepting and respecting Rasathi for who she is. Not something that we would like, right ladies? Give us a woke man any day.

3.  His lack of conviction
Conviction is something that Iniyan is in dire need of. Right now, he is just lamenting about his issues and looking at things from a set and narrow perspective. If only he believed in himself rather than listening to others. Then he would find the necessary independent perspective that will bail him out of his problems. And there is nothing more attractive in a person than inner self-confidence.
