TMKOC’s Ghanshyam Nayak Aka Nattu Kaka Diagnosed With Cancer, Resumes Shoot Amid Chemotherapy

Ghanshyam Nayak aka Nattu Kaka had a brief exit from the popular TV show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In the last few months, the actor underwent medical treatment and thus called off his shoot schedules. However, nothing more was shared about his medical condition. And now, Ghanshyam has himself revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer. The 77-year-old TV star has started his treatment recently whilst completing the shoot of a special episode for the show. 

Earlier, a few months ago, Ghanshyam Nayak underwent a series of surgeries for the knots in his neck. Even after the treatment, the actor shot small snippets for TMKOC and appeared on the show for a short duration. And now, in an interview with a news daily, Ghanshyam shared that he is undergoing chemotherapy sessions. The chemo had to be restarted after new knots were found during a test.

Furthermore, the actor revealed that he had shot for the show’s upcoming special episode. “It was after four months that I shot a special episode for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah in Daman last week. Believe me, I enjoyed a lot,” Ghanshyam stated. Also, Ghanshyam’s son Vikas is quite optimistic about his father’s ongoing treatment,

“He is not facing any problem, but we did not want to take risk. We just need to take papa to the hospital once a month for the sessions,” Vikas was quoted saying in an interview. Ghanshyam, who resumed the shoot of TMKOC in Daman, is eagerly waiting to be on the Mumbai sets after his treatment. Talking about the special episode, the actor revealed that his part will be telecasted in the upcoming week.

For those unversed, Ghanshyam plays the popular comic character Nattu Kaka and has been a vital part of the show since its pilot episode. And fans will be quite excited for his comeback on TMKOC.
