Only a few people know that the actor’s full name is a little longer than his onscreen name. Vijaya Gurunatha Sethupathi Kalimuthu, was shortened to Vijay Sethupathi so people could remember his name easily but his work in movies, makes sure that he is unforgettable anyway!

Vijay Sethupathi was actually born in Rajapalayam where he was raised till he was 10. After his sixth grade, he moved to Chennai, where he completed his education. He earned his Bachelors in Commerce degree from Dhanraj Baid Jain College and then began working as an accountant in a firm.

4) Rejections in his life

Vijay Sethupathi has risen from dire circumstances, where he has had to do odd jobs as a salesman, BPO operator and also look after three siblings. Slowly, he progressed in his career as he took up a job in Dubai and began earning four times of what he made in India! However, he does not regret it because that’s where he met his wife.

5) Worked as a background artist several times

At 16, the actor was rejected in the auditions because of his height. When he returned to India, he took up acting jobs as a background artist, and once he started earning offers, there was no looking back for the actor and a star was born!
