Watch: Sushmita Sen Opens Up About The ‘Special Connection’ That Her Family Shares With Durga Puja

Bollywood actor Sushmita Sen is among the most hailed superstars of Bollywood. Be it her on-screen charisma or her off-screen elegance, the actor is adored for being a woman of substance. Sushmita is now making headlines for a throwback video that has resurfaced over the internet. In the video, we can see the actor interacting with the media at a Durga puja pandal, sharing the deep connection her family has established with this annual festival, over the years.

As seen in the video, Sushmita begins with her children’s excitement for the festival. She says, “They look at it as a time of vacations from school, new clothes, they get to meet their grandparents and other relatives as we all spend time together during the Durga puja. They get to eat bhog (festival cuisine) after the Ashtami Puja.”

The actor also added how her children share a special relationship with the Maa Durga. “My younger one Alisah says to me, ‘Mamma, look she (Goddess Gurga) is also a single mother like you. She comes with four babies and no husband’ and my elder daughter Rene looks at Maa Durga with a sense of belonging. So I can say I’m blessed with beautiful daughters. I call one Laxmi and the other one Saraswati.”

Further, Sushmita also revealed some of her favourite dishes during the festival. The actor is often seen visiting Durga pandals with her family during the festival. Meanwhile, on the work front, Sushmita made a great comeback with the web show Arya. Her performance was appreciated by critics as well as the masses. Sushmita is currently busy with the second season of the show.
