On Sunday, October 25, director and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj visited the ITBP soldiers at the Mountaineering and Skiing institute in Uttarakhand’s Auli.

On Sunday, October 25, director and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj visited the ITBP soldiers at the Mountaineering and Skiing institute in Uttarakhand’s Auli. The force was celebrating its 59th Raising Day. On this auspicious occasion, Vishal Bhardwaj spoke a few inspiring lines to honour all the jawans who were present and along with it he also sang a few beautiful lines penned down by his father.

Before beginning to sing, Vishal thanked all the soldiers for their high grit, spirit and hard work. For protecting our country’s border, the music composer said that “people of the country owe to the ITBP jawans. Every Indian bows head in front of you, out of respect. We feel really proud”. After his endearing speech, the filmmaker continued to pay homage to the soldiers by singing a heartfelt poem written by his father.

The clip of him singing was also shared by the official Twitter handle of ITBP. Donning a black jacket and sunglasses, Vishal can be seen being humbled to have gotten the opportunity to contribute and celebrate the 59th Raising Day amidst the ongoing pandemic scarce. On the professional front, Vishal Bhardwaj last directed the comedy-drama flick Pataakha back in 2018. Starring Radhika Madan, Sanya Malhotra and Sunil Grover, the movie chronicled the life of two sisters who do not share a cordial relation with each other. Post this, he composed music for the action movie Sonchiriya.

Featuring Bhumi Pednekar and late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead roles, the entire film was shot in Bundeli dialect. It presented a ruthless tale of dacoits from Chambal. Apart from this, Vishal Bhardwaj has released two music videos – Palke Kholo and Dhoop Aane Do – this year.
