Aditya Chopra is among the Bollywood producers, who opted to release his films only in theaters and not on streaming platforms. During the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, several makers opted for the release of their projects on the digital platform. The producer has held on the release of these movies for over 18 months and is doing the same till now.
Now, if the emerging reports are to be believed, the filmmaker and producer have refused a deal worth Rs.400 crores from an online media platform giant for a direct digital release of these projects. A source told a leading daily that the production house has been approached by several digital media platforms. But Aditya is clear that his movies are meant to be released in theatres. The source went on to add that, after the second wave of pandemic and no clear indication on reopening of theatres in Maharashtra, an online streaming platform made an offer to Chopra to buy the 4 films for Rs 400 crore. But Aditya Chopra stayed firm to the decision and refused the offer.
