Saumya Tandon, is popularly known today by her character’s name Anita (Mishra) Bhabhi in And TV’s popular show Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. Apart from her impeccable comic timing, the actress has time and again received immense praise for her contemporary look on the show. There’s no denying that Anita Mishra’s character is completely different from the usual or rather regular female characters, the ones what we have seen earlier on the small screen.

Gaining so much popularity, recently we stumbled upon an interview of Saumya, where the actress opened up as to why she feels this character of Anita in Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain is different. Speaking to an agency she said, “Anita, unlike the sobbing female characters who are hit by the pressures of their dominant ‘sasural’ or arrogant husband, is a very different, quirky, happy, independent, overtly romantic and strong woman.”

Further, she stated that she feels great to see that such strong female characters like that of her, is receiving praises and have been successful on the small screen. “They are the guiding light for many who feel that sobbing characters still work,” added the actress.
