While Filming MayDay, Amitabh Bachchan Revisits The Location Of Deewar’s Climax Scene

Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan revisited his 1975 release Deewar as he reached to shoot for his upcoming film MayDay, at the same location where Inspector Shashi shot his brother. Scroll down to take a look.

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan marked his debut back in the 70s’. For over five decades, he has given us some of the most remarkable films; from Sholay to Amar Akhbar Anthony. Another big film from his repertoire is Deewar. And, it seems like recently, the veteran actor got a good reason to share a trivia about the location of its climax. Interestingly, Amitabh Bachchan started shooting for his upcoming film MayDay at the same location, where Deewar’s climax was shot.

The 78-year-old actor shared a bunch of pictures on his social media feed. While captioning one of the posts, Bachchan wrote, “Looking back on time .. see that arch in the stone building at the back .. in a shadow loop .. Police Officer Shashi Kapoor shoots his brother Vijay in DEEWAR at that spot in film .. today shooting same place for MAYDAY .. 42 years later .. Deewar made in 1979 to today 2021 / Been a while !!”. The post saw his granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda drop a comment, which read, “Love you”.

Meanwhile, the caption of his other post read, “Deewar 1975 .. Mayday 2021 .. looking back in time .. the same corridor .. the same location .. so many film shoots here of several films of mine .. but today .. this came up”. The post featured a picture collage, which had the aforementioned scene from Deewaar and a recent click from the sets of Mayday.

Talking about MayDay, the ensemble star cast of the film also features De De Pyaar De co-stars Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh. Amitabh and Ajay have joined the hands nearly after seven years.  Reportedly, currently, the team is shooting a courtroom drama sequence. Interestingly, in the pictures, Amitabh Bachchan was seen sporting formal attire. Ajay and Rakul will be seen playing the characters of pilots.

On the other side, Boman Irani, Angira Dhar, and Aakanksha Singh will also essay pivotal characters in the film. The makers are planning to release the upcoming film next year in April. Apart from this, Amitabh Bachchan has multiple releases in his pipeline, including Brahmastra.
