Who’s Bollywood’s Most Free-Spirited Girl: Kareena Kapoor In Jab We Met Or Fatima Sana Sheikh In Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari?
BollywoodMoviesTV ShowsKareena in Jab We Met and Fatima in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, are both fun-loving and cheerful women whose journeys are fun to watch – here is a fun little comparison of the two.
Jab We Met is an evergreen film that people love revisiting, again and again, for many reasons. And one of the main reasons is Kareena Kapoor’s character in the film, Geet. In 2020, we got another rom-com, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, which also featured a cheerful girl like Geet – Tulsi Rane. Geet and Tulsi, besides being cheerful, share a lot of other similarities. Let us take a look at those, and pit these characters against each other, like a fun card game.
Kareena Kapoor in Jab We Met plays the role of Geet, a fun-loving girl, who belongs to a big family residing in Bathinda. She is a talkative girl who can talk to just anyone about her life. She also goes out of her way to help strangers. Once while helping a stranger in a similar way, she misses her train to her hometown and then roams the streets of Ratlam (ek akeli ladki, khuli hui tijori ki tarah). After she somehow manages to reach Bathinda, she runs away to be with her lover (why even take the pain of reaching and then running again?) Her journey of love sees a lot of transformation in her character as she goes through heartbreak and finds joy again.
Fatima Sana Sheikh in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari plays the role of Tulsi, who is also a fun-loving girl. Although she is not as talkative as Geet, she also hides a secret from her family, as Geet did. Tulsi belongs to a small family in Mumbai, and her family believes her to be an old-fashioned and reserved woman. However, she is secretly a famous DJ. She also explores a journey of love and heartbreak in her life, leading her to find her ultimate joy.
While Tulsi could keep her secret from everyone and not be talkative about it, Geet, on the other hand, was too vocal about her secret. She shared it with a stranger on the train, who did not even want to hear it! One can never forget Aditya Kashyap’s rant when Geet was oversharing (Tum ho meri problem! Bolte hi jaa rahi ho!)

Also, Tulsi was a calm and composed girl, but Geet had the best fundas of life. ‘Main apni favourite hoon’ and ‘Real mein jo insaan chaahta hai, actual mein use wahi milta hai’, among many of her fundas, have won people’s hearts. For these, we will give Geet the advantage points over Tulsi.
Although not announcing Tulsi as victorious puts us at risk from her brother, Detective Madhoo Mangal Rane (Manoj Bajpayee) may get upset with this and start spying on us… But even Geet has a brother who should not be messed with! So ya, we are in trouble anyway!
Ab karein toh kya karein?
