Will Ranveer Singh Play The Role Of Karna In Suryaputra Mahavir Karna?

Pooja Entertainment recently released a teaser of their film Suryaputra Mahavir Karna. Now if reports are to be believed, actor Ranveer Singh has been approached to play Karna’s role. In the past, Ranveer has been a part of epic dramas like Ram Leela, Padmavat, and Bajirao Mastani.

The Indian film industry has produced several mythological tales in the past, whether it is through their movies or TV shows. Apart from mythological tales, the industry has also diverted its attention to historic tales and hence several films set in these genres are already in the pipeline. The latest film to join this lineup is Pooja Entertainment’s Suryaputra Mahavir Karna.

As mentioned earlier, Pooja Entertainment recently released the Suryaputra Mahavir Karna teaser. In the Instagram post about this teaser, the makers wrote, “Presenting to you a never seen before visual extravaganza #SuryaputraMahavirKarna!. The story of an unsung warrior Karna from Mahabharata. Releasing in #Hindi #Tamil #Telugu #Kannada #Malayalam.

Now according to Boogle Bollywood, Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has been approached for the titular role. Ranveer is already well versed with the genre, with epic dramas like Padmavat, Ram Leela, and Bajirao Mastani. Hence, the Suryaputra Mahavir Karna makers have approached the ’83 actor. Moreover, Ranveer Singh has also liked the mythological drama’s script.

Ranveer is yet to provide a confirmation about the project but even if he turns it down, it most probably will be due to date issues. Talking about Suryaputra Mahavir Karna, Dr. Kumar Vishwas has penned the dialogues and the lyrics of the film and its songs. The Suryaputra Mahavir Karna teaser has already received positive response from fans. Hence, it will be interesting to see when the casting details about the film are finalised and whether we get to see Ranveer Singh as Mahabharat’s Karna.

Talking about epic dramas in Bollywood, films on Mahabharata and Ramayana are already in the pipeline. But nobody has presented a drama about Karna. Hence Vashu Bhagnani’s film SuryaputraMahavir Karna will be the first film to emphasise on the warrior. Ever since the rumour of Ranveer Singh being approached for the film hit the internet, it has gotten fans extremely excited.

Singh marked his debut in Bollywood with the film, Band Baaja Baaraat. He won the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award that year for his role in the film. Since then Ranveer Singh portrayed several characters and has won the hearts of critics and audiences alike.
