The ZEE5 Original Series Rangbaaz was created in Hindi, but there is good news for anyone who loves a good old crime-political drama. The is a TRUE STORY about an influential crime lord and his personal life. Directed by Bhav Dhulia, this is a web-series you will not regret watching.

So, the first and foremost reason to watch the show is that Saqib Saleem, who plays the role of Shiv Prakash Shukla, marked his digital debut on ZEE5 with Rangbaaz. While the actor has been under-utilised until now, it is great to see him get so much exposure on the show.

Rangbaaz is based on the life of Shri Prakash Shukla (name changed to Shiv Prakash Shukla in the series) the most feared gangster in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, around the late 90s. This criminal lord was apparently hired by politicians to finish their opponents. Playing such an intimidating role must have definitely been challenging for Saqib, but he has done a damn well job with the character of Shiv Prakash Shukla.

Aahana Kumra, who has done some commendable work in the past, shares amazing onscreen chemistry with Saqib Saleem, as his love interest. What is interesting about her role is that since the show is set in the late 90s, you can see the old school romance between them.

One of the other actors is Ranvir Shorey who was roped into the crucial role of Siddharth Pandey. His character is of a cop with his desperate to put the most notorious gangster in UP behind bars. With the old-school setting, their cat and mouse chase makes the crime-drama more fun to watch.

Last but not least is that in today’s world many individuals don’t really have the time to watch a really long web-series. And now thanks to Rangbaaz, which is beautifully crafted into a nine-episode series, you can be done with the whole story in no time. Some serious time saved there I tell you.
