ISRO scientists launched Mangalyan into space, to reach Mars on 5 November 2019. By doing so, India became the first country in Asia to achieve the feat and the fourth in the world to reach the planet. More importantly, India successfully carried out the mission in 1/5th of the budget, in a first-of-its-kind scientific feat using the cheapest technology. At a time when India was struggling to send a rocket to the moon, the nation sent its first satellite to Mars. And that is definitely a story every Indian should know of!

M-O-M Mission Over Mars is a ZEE5 Original and ALTBalaji Original web series based on this very historic mission. It revolves around the women scientists and the key roles played by them in the Mars Orbiter Mission. However, the digital drama takes a fictional route and names of the people, devices, and organizations, etc have been changed for the same.

Mission Over Mars brings a stellar cast together including Sakshi Tanwar, Mona Singh, Nidhi Singh, and Palomi Ghosh. Besides, Mohan Joshi appears in a pivotal role too. Given the impressive body of work each of these actors hold, it would be exciting to see these powerhouses in a single frame.

Mission Over Mars should be watched not only for its story and star cast but also it’s the ability to instill confidence in young minds. India’s attempt to send a rocket to the moon had failed and nobody wanted to risk sending a satellite to Mars because obviously the success rate was pretty low. However, the success of this very mission is proof, nothing in this world is unachievable. The can-do and never-say-never spirit in this web series is a power booster for those who dare to dream.

The world gave a ‘copy that’ to India’s Mars Orbiter Mission. But very few knew that the team of scientists who made the feat possible included several women in-charge. A bunch of great female minds fighting against all odds, and giving their all to a mission to make it a success at all costs is a reminder that women can do anything. Besides, it is also a great deal of encouragement for females to take up science and technology fields as their career choices. Sakshi Tanwar and Mona Singh are shown as a mother, respectively, and juggling between their responsibilities at work and home.
