The sudden death of Sushant Singh Rajput has made everyone think how mental health is something that needs to be treated much like any other illness.

Mental illness is one of the most dangerous issues and one must talk about depression. Depression or mental illness can happen to anyone from celebrities to any common man, it does not differentiate. Recently the upcoming and popular Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput who gained a lot of fame with his performance as Manav in Zee TV’s show Pavitra Rishta committed suicide on 14 June 2020. With the news of his death, everyone started talking about mental health, depression and encouraged people to speak about the same. Mental health is something that needs to be treated much like any other illness and even though a lot of people may not talk about it openly, it is something that is on the rise all over the world. Maayka actress Arti Singh suffered from depression and she confessed the same in a reality show. Arti narrated the horrific incident as she said that after doing several TV shows she did not earn fame in the industry and after receiving appreciation and awards, she was jobless for two years. She was rejected by a groom’s family after learning about her depression. But she fought hard and came out of depression and did not give up.

Qurbaan Hua actor Karan Jotwani who essays the role of Neel in the Zee TV show spoke about his depression. He said that in 2018, he went through severe depression as he used to get immersed in the roles and could not switch off. He was sleep-deprived and decided to take medication. He thanked the makers and channel for giving him time to recover.
