1. Cricket Forever
Apart from presenting Dadagiri in style, Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, is now also a cricket administrator and commentator! This is no surprise as Dada has always been a champion on the field, and now, off it too!
2. BCCI President
Dada is the 39th and present president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. This is the governing body for the popular sport in India, and Sourav Ganguly leads all operations across it! Isn’t that impressive?
3. A Husband And A Father
Sourav Ganguly is married Dona Roy, his childhood sweetheart. They have a daughter called Sana. Sourav loves spending time with them and often shares photos of them on social media.
4. The ‘Prince Of Calcutta’
Geoffrey Boycott, the famous commentator and former cricketer in the England team, nicknamed Dada the ‘Prince of Calcutta!’ This was thanks to his superior cricketing style, which put the City of Joy on the map when it came to cricket. The moniker has stuck since.
5. A Famous Dispute
Sourav Ganguly had a rift with his coach at the time, Greg Chappell, which became a well-known controversy. The dispute led to his omission from the team several times, and shook the world of cricket. Read all about it here.

Did you know that Sourav Ganguly took to the sport of cricket because of his brother? Snehasish Ganguly, Dada’s older brother, played national-level cricket and this is how Sourav got inspired. His mother Nirupa was not very supportive at first because it interfered with his studies, but Dada managed to surpass all expectations as we are now aware!
7. The ‘Maharaja’
Sourav Ganguly had quite a luxurious upbringing, and was nicknamed ‘Maharaja’ by everybody. This name was carried on after he achieved new heights of brilliance in cricket, and we still refer to him as ‘Maharaja’ today!
