Law Without Limits, Lawless Without Fear: Watch Lalbazaar’s Latest Teaser Which Is Out Now

Crime thriller Lalbazaar is the latest ZEE5 Original series to be coming to the platform on June 19. With an exciting cast of actors including Gaurav Chakrabarty, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Kaushik Sen and Sauraseni Maitra, the series directed by Sayantan Ghosal is based on true events that have transpired in the seedy underbelly of Kolkata. Lalbazaar is Kolkata Police’s headquarters. Check out Ajay Devgn’s tweet where his excitement about the launch is showing clearly.

The teaser plunges us headlong into a world of ruthless crime with its racy plot coloured by violence, murder, prostitution and revenge. It opens with the lines “Life’s a bitch. It makes fools out of all of us” being quoted in the background. The teaser is just that– it gives us a fair idea of what’s to come without being totally explicit, but while being rather suggestive. Somehow, this makes the whole thing even eerier! We are given vivid glimpses of what takes place in the show. Raunchy scenes from a shady brothel, an empty swing in a park rocking back and forth, and a flock of pigeons scattering because of a sudden disturbance. Then, it picks up the pace quite rapidly.

The city is shaken by a stream of events ranging from brutal assault to cold blooded murder. The Kolkata Police in Lalbazaar, including D. C. Sharma (Sabyasachi Chakraborty) and Officer Suranjan (Kaushik Sen), are among the cohort that is leading the investigation of these cases. We get to know what they have to deal with everyday, and what makes them tick.

We see a blood spattered youth stabbing someone over and over again in a frenzied madness while the sounds of each stab rings across the street. Gunned men open fire and launch into a full throttle battle against each other. A young woman hangs from her ceiling in one chilling scene. All in one, Lalbazaar looks like it’s going to be one mercilessly action-packed ride.

On the flip side, as the violence and crime reign all across, we get to see the virtues and vices, and the calculated as well as the emotional sides of our law enforcement officers. Lalbazaar will be an epic journey into this lesser explored side of Kolkata, so stay tuned till it finally hits us!
