Malaika recently made an appearance on the ZEE5 show Not Just Supper Stars with her friend and business partner Sarvesh Shashi.

“I am very disciplined,” Bollywood’s Chaiyya Chaiyya girl Malaika Arora describes herself. The Bollywood celebrity has probably been lying to us all along about her age because boy, one can only aspire to look like her at 46! She boasts of a super toned hot-bod, sculpted features that can make you skip a beat and a killer fashion sense that can give the younger lot a run for their money. It is no secret that Malaika swears by yoga as the secret to her lean and fit frame. On the latest episode of Not Just Supper Stars, she opens up about the most difficult yoga pose, her equation with son Arhaan and cheat meals (yes, she does cheat on her diet).

“I found yoga about 4-5 years back. There is always that preconceived notion that it is slow and only for people after a certain age. You don’t always have to (do a) rigorous workout where you sweat buckets or you are panting and totally out of breath. I don’t think that is the answer to a great workout,” she tells host Gunjan Utreja. Ask her about how she spends her off-duty days, she reveals: “I love my time with my friends. When I say my girlfriends, my life revolves around them. I mean a major part of my life is about them. We are all very like-minded. We have a lot of fun. We talk, laugh, giggle, talk rubbish like any bunch of girls. We keep each other really grounded. The most fun times with them have been at home, just a few of us chilling.”

Gunjan quizzed Malaika about what kind of rules she has in place for son Arhaan. “I am an extremely strict mother. Normal rules, there are curfews. He has to be a certain way, talk a certain way, he has to respect people. He cannot just yell and get people to do his work. He has to make his bed. Apart from all this, one thing I tell him all the time is to treat me like a friend. I want him to confide in me, tell me about his girlfriend or any issue, whatever, just treat me like a friend,” she shares.

Malaika’s friend, business-partner and yoga entrepreneur Sarvesh Shashi accompanied her to the show. Recalling their first meeting, Sarvesh says, “Malaika told me, ‘Before we start this meeting and start talking, I want to be a partner in this business, no ambassador or anything. If you are looking at anything of that sort, let’s just step away right now.’ After hearing this, I was just like I couldn’t have found a better business partner, let’s just sign the papers.”

Talking about Sarvesh, Malaika tells Gunjan: “I am yet to meet a more enthusiastic person than Sarvesh. I was like, ‘what does he eat, what is he on?’ He was so energetic and I was just like ‘okay, yeah.’ It was nice, almost like a yin and yang situation. I am this zen-like person and he is this ball of energy.”

While Sarvesh opines, “Shavasana is the most difficult” yoga aasana to do “because it is not easy to be just sitting and thoughtless,” Malaika thinks, “Physically, it’s the tree pose.” The star also added that she is definitely a “work in progress” and she is “learning something all the time.”

Lastly, Malaika surprised us all by admitting she eats biryani once a week! “Biryani is my weakness. Every week I have it. I love cooking Thai food. I was never really good with desserts, but now I am learning.” For more, watch the episode below:
