The popular mythological show Santoshi Maa is all set to return on And TV with its second season. Bankrolled by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms, the show will focus on the stories of the Goddess’ guidance through different vrats – the reasons behind performing them, the right way, the beliefs etc. Makers have brought back Lagaan girl Gracy Singh to reprise her role of Santoshi Maa on the show.

“I have a very strong spiritual connection with the goddess, Santoshi Maa and the character itself. The character holds a very special place in my heart. In the show, I will be a strong, guiding force for my devotee, Swati, and will through the medium of various vrath kathas, help her find solutions to all the problems she faces in her life. It is a story of an undying devotion of a devotee towards her deity and how that helps her overcome several challenges and emerge victoriously,” Gracy was quoted as saying by a media portal.

Tanvi Dogra, who started her career at the age of 20 with the Zee TV show Meri Sasu Maa is set to make her debut in the mythological genre with Santoshi Maa. Tanvi will essay Swati, an ardent devotee of Goddess Santoshi, on the show. She is a kindhearted girl who has a contemporary outlook towards life but stays close to her roots.

While talking about the upcoming show the actress told a leading daily, “I have been a firm believer in Santoshi Maa since childhood, due to which observing a fast every Friday to seek her blessings and divine guidance has been a part of my life. I truly believe if we undertake and observe the fast regularly we will be able to seek her guidance and bring order to disorder in life. Even after having a few concerns for playing the role, my connection with the goddess helped me take it up.”

Ashish Kadian enters the And TV show as Indresh, the supportive and fearless husband of Swati (Tanvi Dogra). Indresh is an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva.
