On the occasion of Mother’s Day 2019, we asked the stars of ZEE5 original series and films to share the fondest memory of their mother. The actors also revealed their favourite mom’s recipe and the lessons they have learnt from her! Without much ado, check out their revelations below

Talking about her favourite mom-made dish, Elnaaz Norouzi exclusively told us, “She makes the best lamb shanks, now we both have turned vegetarian, but I can confidently say that no one makes them better than her.”

Elnaaz played the role of a tough cop Natasha Hashmi in ZEE5 original series Abhay.

2. Kaafir star Dia Mirza

In an exclusive interview, Dia Mirza revealed the most powerful gift she has received from her mother is perspective.“It’s very easy, she has always told me, to get consumed and contained by our immediate lives. It’s very important to remember that you are affected by infinity. She gifted me the moon one birthday, as an example. I was like, ‘But it’s not mine.’ My mother replied, ‘Who said? It’s yours from today. Every time you look at it, know that it’s yours.’ That’s context, that’s perspective,” said Dia.

She further added, “Then, of course, the perspective that before you are your name, before you are your religion, before you are your geographical address, before you are your nationality, you are first the citizen of the planet. That your identity cannot be contained or limited by your surname or your residential address, everything needs to perpetuate from the understanding that this planet is your home and everything starts from there. I think that’s the most powerful gift she has ever given me.”

For those unaware, Dia is set to make her digital debut with Kaafir, an upcoming ZEE5 original series, alongside Mohit Raina.

3. Bhoot Purva actor Omkar Kapoor

“There is this chawaal ka kheer (rice pudding) that she makes, it is unbeatable. It is constantly in my memories and on my taste buds,” reveals Bhoot Purva actor Omkar Kapoor. “For her, I always am and always will be the Masoom that I was, she loves that performance the most,” added the Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 star.

4. Poison star Riya Sen

“Jumbo Prawns with white sauce,” is my favourite mom-made dish, says Riya Sen who was last seen in ZEE5 original series Poison. Riya, daughter of Bengali superstar and MP Moon Moon Sen, further added that she loves travelling with her mom. “One of my fondest memories was Travelling with her for her shows to New York. It was my first time there and I fell in love with the city and since then I’ve made many more trips there,” she said.

The Apna Sapna Money Money actress has also made a piece of art for her mommy dearest, “I made my mother a painting which she absolutely loved and I also thought it was one of the best works that I’ve done.”

5. Badnaam Gali actor Divyenndu Sharma

“I dedicated my first award ‘Best Debut Screen Award’ to my mother,” reveals actor Divyenndu Sharma whose latest outing, a ZEE5 original film Badnaam Gali, released ahead of Mother’s Day. The star says that he loved watching the TV show Mirza Ghalib, directed by Gulzar, with his mum and cannot get enough of the “Kadhi Chaawal” she makes. “Although she cooks everything superbly,” he asserts!
