Throwback Thursday: How Heer And Ranjha Were Connected From Birth

The Zee Punjabi series Heer Ranjha sets new goals in love and friendship. The show does justice to the iconic love story, thanks to the power-packed performance of actors like Amaninder Pal Singh, Sara Gurpal, and others. We usually do a Throwback Thursday with the childhood memories of actors like Diljit Dosanjh and Payal Rajput. However, this time we will revisit the moment that established the intertwined fates of Heer and Ranjha.

When Heer Struggles To Save Ranjha

After Kaido poisons and hangs Ranjha, Heer brings Ranjha to Darvesh. Darvesh asks Heer to get holy water from a nearby pond. Heer brings the holy water and helps to bring Ranjha back. This moment takes you back to the first episode of the show.

When Heer And Ranjha Were Born On The Same Day 

In the first episode, we see that Malki is expecting Heer when Banto (Dr. Ambar Bedi) gives poison to her. Malki also goes to Mazhar but goes into labour. At the same time, Mojju, Bhure, and Lekhu bring an injured little Ranjha to Mazhar. Ranjha has saved his friend Babban from a snake bite and got bitten himself. A woman asks for a chaddar from Bhure to cover Malki. Mojju has planned to offer this chaddar at Mazhar, but it gets used in Malki’s delivery. Bhure and Chuchak meet at Mazhar and they pray for their families.

Malki fights for her life and gives birth to Heer. Darvesh considers Heer’s birth as a miracle. He holds the baby Heer and asks the Almighty to save the other child too. Little Ranjha gets few drops of water from Heer’s feet and that’s how he gains consciousness. Mojju and Chuchak rejoice. Ranjha gets a second life on the day of Heer’s birth, and that’s why it is said that Heer and Ranjha share their birthdate.

See, this is what you call true love. Sometimes, Heer has saved Ranjha, sometimes Ranjha has rescued Heer. They both are destined to stay together. Even death can’t stop these lovers from becoming one.
