The hit Bengali TV serial, Trinayani, revolves around Trinayani aka Nayan (played by Shruti Das), who is blessed with the ability to see the future. She often has flashbacks from the past and eerie premonitions of what lies ahead with her foresight. The last few episodes of the Bengali serial have been packed with drama and action. Here are some of the main events that took place before lockdown happened and shoots were stalled. As you watch new episodes, here’s a quick recap of what happened not so far back in the past. Nayan has regained her eyesight which she had lost in a terrible accident. Thanks to the good Dr Debdut from the ashram that she was staying at, she can finally see again! After this new development, she naturally wants to return to her married life with Dripto (Gourab Roy Chowdhury) at home, and see the family. Accompanied by Dr Debdut, Nayan returns home.

In this heartbreaking episode, Nayan is home and looks eagerly for her beloved Dripto or Boro Shaheb as she calls him. While some of the family members like Thammi and Rangana (Rii Sen) welcome her with open arms, the rest of them are taken aback at seeing that she is still alive! What’s more, Dripto has been suffering from amnesia since the terrible accident, and cannot even remember her!

When Nayan tries to jog Dripto’s memory and remind him that she is his wife, Jasmine (played by Jasmine Roy) steps in and calls her a liar. Jasmine claims that she is Dripto’s wife now, and tells her to stay away from him forevermore. Poor Dripto cannot understand what on earth is going on, and in his confusion, backs Jasmine up and calls Nayan a liar too! Even though Nayan’s voice rings familiar, he cannot place who she is, and tells her to get out.

Abused and insulted, a shattered Nayan decides to return the ashram where she had come all the way from. She has no other choice, and she cannot bear to be around her beloved Boro Shaheb when he seems not to want nor welcome her. The long suffering Nayan makes her way back and resorts to the lifestyle of being worshipped as a goddess by the devotees at the ashram once again. This is something she has always hated, and it is heartbreaking to see her endure this out of desperation.

Back at the ashram, Nayan goes back to decking herself up to look like a goddess and letting her devotees worship her daily. Amid one such session, she is stunned to see a dishevelled Dripto enter the room and observe the strange sight. He is bewildered, and keeps repeating that Nayan seems very familiar, and that he cannot rest until he gets to the bottom of who she is! Nayan experiences a mixture of delight at seeing him and sorrow that he still cannot remember who she is, but the important thing is, he has come back for her.
