Zee Cine Awards 2019: Ranveer Singh And Deepika Padukone Relive A 2011 Moment

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone is one Bollywood couple that sure knows how to make our heart flutter. The gorgeous couple entered the holy matrimony last year in November, but have continued to be the ‘IT’ pair ever since their Ram Leela days! As if DeepVeer’s ultra-romantic PDA and mushy social media exchange weren’t enough, the newlyweds relived a cherished memory from 2011. Did you know the first time Ranveer presented an award to Deepika was in 2011, at Zee Cine Awards?

Yes, that happened! But the stars were probably dating different people at that point in their lives we suppose. Deepika had then won the Best International Icon (Female) Award at Zee Cine Awards 2011. Ranveer was one of the people along with Neha Dhupia, who had given it away to her. Who knew, eight years on, they would relive the exact moment, as husband and wife though? At the recently held Zee Cine Awards 2019, Ranveer presented the Best Actress Award to his beautiful better half and actress Deepika for Padmaavat. Deepika played the role of Rani Padmavati in the magnum opus helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Here are the glimpses:

Not just Deepika, even Ranveer bagged the Best Actor (Viewers’ Choice) Award at Zee Cine Awards 2019 for Padmaavat. But it was his acceptance speech that melted our hearts! On stage, he thanked SLB and Deepika for his victory. “Apni Leela, Apni Mastani, Apni Rani se shaadi kar li, main to sach mein hero ban gaya yaar,” Ranveer said. Of course, his words left Deepika emotional and teary-eyed, but he knows how to make his wifey smile!

Thanking Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ranveer said, “You shaped me as an artist and an actor, if I am an actor of any kind of caliber it’s because of you. You gave me my life’s most great opportunities.”
