ZEE5 Original Series Topless Trailer: Gangsta Comedy Heist That Promises Much Wackiness

One vintage painting of a nude woman has been put up for auction. Painted by a British artist, this artwork dates back to 1920. Rumour is that it is supposed to be cursed. Yet, there are at least three interested parties scrambling to acquire this painting, at all costs, legal or illegal. Mostly illegal actually. One is a religious politician, the other party is a gang of thieves. And the third is an English woman and the grand-daughter of the artist. But why do they all want it? According to the trailer, most of the characters are unaware of the real reason this painting is being sought out so much. What’s so special about a century old topless painting?

The trailer to ZEE5’s latest Original Series, Topless, opens with all the comic chaos that we could expect from a series like Topless. Director Dinesh Mohan’s professed love for Quentin Tarantino films is evident in the way he has filmed the chaos, violence and the comedy amidst it all. The background music score to the trailer is uber cool gangsta with some menacing guitar work in it and fits in perfectly well with the overall look of the series. Guru Somasundaram, of Jigarthanda fame, looks almost unrecognisable in his role as the politician. Also, acting as leader to the gangsters is Harish Uthaman, who played druglord Adaikalam in the recent hit film, Kaithi. So, get set to watch new Original Series, Topless, releasing only on ZEE5 platform, on February 11.
